Contemporary Figurative Artist
Contemporary figurative paintings for residential and commercial interiors.

Denise Brook is a Southern California artist whose contemporary figurative paintings blend realism, surrealism, and social commentary. Working primarily in acrylic, she creates narrative-driven works that explore gender, identity, consumer culture, politics, environmental concerns, and the shifting stories we tell ourselves about the world around us.
Drawing on a background as an award-winning Creative Director in branding and visual communications, Brook combines strong design sensibilities with layered symbolism and luminous color. Her paintings often place ordinary people and familiar objects into slightly altered realities—inviting viewers to question assumptions, reconsider cultural narratives, and find humor within complexity.
Her work has been exhibited nationally in juried exhibitions and institutions including the Oceanside Museum of Art, San Diego Museum of Art, and Brea Gallery, and has been featured in Create Magazine and The Writing Disorder.
